Custom Holiday Ornaments

This holiday season, the MakerSpace has collaborated with local businesses to manufacture custom ornaments. One notable partnership is with Port Farms, who selected the MakerSpace to help create their holiday ornaments for Christmas trees. Continuing their tradition of working with local businesses to produce unique ornaments, Port Farms designed the ornaments and partnered with the MakerSpace to laser-cut them using the Boss Laser Cutter. Over 1,000 ornaments were manufactured, with MakerSpace technicians overseeing the process, inspecting each piece to ensure it met specifications, and sorting them for delivery to Port Farms.

Impressed by the results of the Port Farms collaboration, the Community Blood Bank of Erie, PA reached out to the MakerSpace to design their own custom ornament. The holiday season is a challenging time for maintaining local blood supplies, and partnerships with community businesses allow the Blood Bank to offer creative incentives for donors. The MakerSpace sponsored a day to support the Blood Bank’s annual “Gift of Life Days” promotion, which thanks donors for their contributions.

The MakerSpace successfully designed and manufactured 50 ornaments for the Community Blood Bank. The design incorporates the Blood Bank’s logo featuring four hearts and includes the message, “’Tis the Season of Giving,” aligning with the event's theme. This partnership highlights the MakerSpace’s ability to contribute meaningfully to local initiatives during the holiday season.
