About the Gannon University MakerSpace

The Gannon University MakerSpace is a hands-on learning environment located at the Center for Manufacturing and Technology. We offer capabilities for 3D printing, metal fabrication, woodworking, and electronics assembly. Our space is designed to inspire creativity and innovation, where makers of all skill levels can collaborate and bring their ideas to life.

Located on I-HACK’s sixth floor, students as well as small businesses now have access to learn and practice cutting-edge techniques to develop products and advance traditional manufacturing into a new age of technology. The resources here are also available to larger businesses to engage with members of Gannon in research and development opportunities for their companies.

Meet the Team

Nick Devine

Design & Fabrication Engineer
Nick Devine

Nick did his undergrad and master’s degree at Gannon in electrical engineering. During his undergrad, he co-founded the robotics development team GUBotDev. GUBotDev focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) outreach and collaboration. He has coordinated over a dozen events each year to bring STEM to the local Erie community. With GUBotDev, he served as project manager on the Mobile STEM Lab project, which took a 1995 RV and turned it into a fully functioning mobile STEM laboratory. It was complete with 3D printers, 5 computers for CAD/CAM, 5 workstations for electronics fabrication, and a classroom outside. The project was completed by Nick and the members of the GUBotDev team who did all the demo, remodeling, wiring, and finishing of the lab.
