
Making Mobility Possible with 3D Printing
Gannon University MakerSpace Joins the MakeGood Maker Network
For Gannon students, this project is an opportunity to see additive manufacturing used beyond a class project or prototype. Through hands-on involvement, students will participate in a real manufacturing process where print quality, material selection, assembly, and attention to detail all contribute to the finished product.
For the families receiving these mobility trainers, the impact is much more personal: increased mobility and independence for their child.
Through our partnership with the MakeGood Foundation, the Gannon MakerSpace is paired with families to manufacture mobility trainers right here on campus. Each build uses the MakerSpace’s 3D printers and manufacturing capabilities to turn MakeGood’s digital designs into a completed mobility device for a child.
How the Project Works
Making Mobility Possible
The Gannon University MakerSpace is putting its additive manufacturing capabilities to work through MakeGood’s 3D-printed mobility program, helping provide adaptive mobility equipment to children and families.
MakeGood connects families with makers who can manufacture their mobility devices, providing the designs and coordinating each connection. The MakerSpace then prints and assembles the devices, which are provided to families at no cost.

Help Us Make More
Each mobility trainer requires materials, hardware, machine time, and other manufacturing supplies.
Your support helps offset these costs, allowing the MakerSpace to produce mobility devices for additional families while giving Gannon students hands-on experience with projects that make a direct community impact.
