Gannon University’s Engineer’s Week Event celebrated the power of engineering providing hands-on activities designed to inspire students and showcase the impact of the field. This year’s theme, "Design Your Future," highlighted the importance of engineers in shaping our future.
The event featured three interactive stations, where participants explored different aspects of engineering. At the 3D printing station, students designed and printed their own models, exploring how digital designs can be transformed into physical objects. The laser engraving station provided an opportunity to see the precision laser-cutting technology, demonstrating how engineering involves both creativity and technical skill. In the woodshop, participants worked with various tools to cut and assemble wooden projects, gaining practical experience in design and construction.
Beyond the hands-on stations, students engaged in CNC machining, 3D modelling, and advanced manufacturing processes, applying engineering concepts in real time. The event encouraged teamwork and problem-solving skills, highlighting the importance of hands-on learning in developing engineers prepared for the future.
Gannon University is committed to providing innovative learning experiences that prepare students to thrive. Engineer’s Week Event was a testament to the creativity, skill, and dedication of the next generation of engineers, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to shape the future.
