Gannon MakerSpace Events

MakerSpace welcomed Girl Scout Troop #46822 on April 18th for a hands-on engineering experience in collaboration with Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania and the Gannon University Society of Women Engineers. From exploring our facilities to creating and experimenting, the visit showcased how MakerSpace empowers the next generation through innovation and real world learning.

MakerSpace hosted Troop 59 from Our Lady of Peace on April 13th, giving scouts a hands on experience with laser engraving and 3D printing while supporting creativity in the community.

Gannon MakerSpace is driving innovation in NWPA by helping businesses turn ideas into reality. At the NWIRC DIFM26 conference, we partnered with SBDC to connect with manufacturers, share resources, and support growth through hands-on solutions, advanced tools, and expert guidance.

Gannon University’s Engineer’s Week event, themed “Transform Your Future,” invited students to explore engineering through hands-on experiences and collaboration. Participants engraved their own designs using laser technology, toured the Makerspace facilities, and connected with peers while enjoying free food, snacks, and drinks. The event highlighted creativity, innovation, and the many ways engineering empowers students to shape the future.

The Gannon University MakerSpace proudly joined this year’s Annual STEAM Fair at Penn State Behrend, bringing hands-on innovation to the community. From live 3D printing to interactive drone simulators, our team helped spark curiosity and creativity in young learners through engaging, real-world technology experiences.

Gannon University’s MakerSpace joined Fairview Elementary’s STEM Night on January 31st to inspire students and families through hands-on learning. We showcased 3D printing, student projects, and high-speed laser engraving on custom leather keychains that participants could take home, celebrating creativity, innovation, and the growing STEM spirit in the Erie community

The MakerSpace welding workshop brought students together for a hands-on learning experience that blended creativity, teamwork, and skill building. With guidance from the MakerSpace team, students learned the art and science of welding in a supportive environment that encouraged curiosity and collaboration, strengthening campus community and student engagement

Gannon University welcomed prospective students and families to campus during its Fall Open House, offering them a firsthand look at the creativity and innovation happening inside MakerSpace.

MakerSpace proudly took part in Manufacturing Day 2025, where we had the opportunity to connect with over 2,000 students and local industry partners from across Erie County.

MakerSpace was excited to contribute to the Centennial Homecoming by engaging alumni, families, and friends with hands-on activities that showcased the spirit of innovation and community!

This year’s Understanding Manufacturing Technologies (UMT) Summer Camps brought students together for an immersive experience in 3D printing, laser cutting, and machining.
