This holiday season, the Gannon University MakerSpace embraced festive creativity through a series of community collaborations and student-centered initiatives. Continuing our tradition of supporting local businesses, we once again partnered with Port Farms to produce custom holiday ornaments, bringing their seasonal designs to life through precision laser cutting.
In addition to community partnerships, the MakerSpace hosted a holiday ornament design contest for Gannon students. Students were invited to submit their own original ornament concepts, and one standout design was selected for production. This initiative provided students with a unique opportunity to showcase their creativity while seeing their ideas transformed into a physical product.
As a festive addition to our space, the MakerSpace also created a custom wooden Christmas tree to display ornaments throughout the season. The tree served as a cheerful centerpiece that celebrated holiday spirit and student creativity.
These projects reflect the MakerSpace’s commitment to blending innovation, community engagement, and creative expression. We are proud to foster hands-on opportunities that bring students, local partners, and the Erie community together during the holiday season.
