This year’s Celebrate Gannon event, held on April 25, showcased the hard work and innovation of Gannon University students across disciplines. As the university's annual celebration of research, scholarship, and creativity, Celebrate Gannon gives students a platform to present projects developed through months or even years of dedication. Among the highlights this year were the impressive senior design projects from the College of Engineering and Business.

These senior projects, created by graduating students, were the result of real-world partnerships with industry sponsors such as Bayer, Parker, Lockheed Martin, and more. With guidance from faculty and professionals, students tackled engineering and business challenges while developing solutions for real companies. Much of this work was made possible thanks to the resources and support from Gannon’s MakerSpace. From laser cutters and 3D printers to expert mentorship by MakerSpace technicians, students had access to everything they needed to bring their designs to life.

Throughout the semester, students spent countless hours prototyping, testing, and refining their projects using the tools and lab space available at MakerSpace. These hands-on experiences not only prepared them for the Celebrate Gannon presentations but also allowed them to explore innovative ideas, collaborate across disciplines, and gain valuable experience working with industry-standard equipment.

While engineering and business students were the focus of the senior projects, MakerSpace also played a key role in supporting students from other academic backgrounds. Many students across the university turned to MakerSpace for technical mentorship, equipment access, and design support to prepare their presentations. This collaborative environment gave students the confidence and tools to bring their ideas to life!

After the presentations, students, faculty, and community members gathered for a celebratory reception. The event offered students the chance to network with local industry leaders, exchange ideas, and reflect on their hard work. It was a rewarding way to close out their academic journey with community support, industry recognition, and a shared celebration of innovation.
