Gannon University’s Engineer’s Week Event once again brought students together to celebrate innovation, creativity, and the impact of engineering. This year’s theme, “Transform Your Future,” encouraged students to explore how engineering can shape new ideas, careers, and technologies that influence the world around us.
The event offered an engaging environment where students could explore engineering through hands-on activities and interactive experiences. One of the highlights of the evening was the laser engraving station, where participants engraved their own custom designs and watched as their ideas were transformed into precise engravings, demonstrating how modern engineering technology blends creativity with technical skills.
Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to ask questions, collaborate with peers, and learn more about different engineering tools and processes. Participants also toured the Gannon MakerSpace facilities, where they explored equipment used for prototyping, design, and advanced manufacturing.
Beyond the technical activities, the event created a welcoming and supporting environment. Students enjoyed free food, snacks, and drinks, giving them time to connect with classmates, share ideas, and discuss their interests in engineering. The setting encouraged conversations between students and MakerSpace technicians, helping participants learn more about opportunities available in engineering and technology.
Engineer’s Week at Gannon continues to highlight the importance of curiosity, collaboration, and hands-on learning. The “Transform Your Future” theme reflected the event’s goal of empowering students to explore their potential and imagine how they can contribute to the future of engineering.
Through experiences like these, Gannon MakerSpace remains committed to providing innovative learning opportunities that inspire students and support the development of the next generation of engineers.
