MakerSpace Summer Camps 2026: UMT and FutureMakers

This summer, the Gannon MakerSpace welcomed students for two hands on camps. Our Understanding Manufacturing Technologies (UMT) camps and our FutureMakers camp. Hosted at Gannon University's I-HACK building, both programs gave campers the chance to design, build, and create while learning the tools that shape modern manufacturing.

Our UMT campers built their very own 3D printers, learned how to use them, and got to take those printers home at the end of camp. Students also worked with laser cutters, tested their own projects, and spent an afternoon cooling off at Splash Lagoon. It was a great mix of real engineering and summer fun.

Over in FutureMakers, campers were sketching and designing their own keychain graphics, thinking through exactly how they wanted the final product to look. Once their designs were ready, they used our xTool F1 laser engraver to bring those ideas to life on leather and wooden keychains. One of the best parts was seeing how different every project turned out. Each camper took the same process and made it their own.
