The Gannon University MakerSpace was honored to play a special role in the Spring 2025 Make-A-Wish reveal at the Highmark Events Center. During the Acrobatics and Tumbling meet, 11-year-old Joshua Eastman from Kane, PA, discovered that his wish to visit Legoland and other Orlando theme parks had been granted. To make the moment even more memorable, the MakerSpace team created a custom 3D-printed commemorative Lego brick featuring Joshua’s name and the Make-A-Wish logo.
Using advanced 3D printing technology, the MakerSpace team carefully designed and printed the iconic Lego piece, symbolizing both Joshua’s love for Legos and his exciting upcoming trip. This small but meaningful keepsake was given to Joshua as part of the reveal, making it a unique reminder of his special day.
The event highlighted our commitment to giving back through partnerships with organizations like Make-A-Wish. Gannon Athletics has raised significant funds to support life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, ranking second nationally in Make-A-Wish donations among Division II schools last year. By collaborating with Gannon Athletics, the MakerSpace team was proud to contribute to this heartwarming celebration, helping Joshua and his family create memories that will last a lifetime.
